OWNERS & HEAD COACHES

Debbie Schultz
OWNER / HEAD COACH
BOMBSQUAD · VENOM
Hi, I’m Debbie Schultz, owner and coach of Toxic Elite Cheerleading. I have worked for over 25 years as a Physical Therapist Assistant for AHS, but my true passion has always been coaching cheer. I love watching athletes learn the sport while building their confidence, self-esteem, and belief in themselves along the way. I have now been coaching for 15 years and have reached the level of a Level 6 Elite Coach. One of my biggest goals was to create a cheer gym that gives anyone who wants to cheer a place to learn, practice, and grow — and I am proud to say that goal has become a reality. I am so excited to have an amazing group of coaches alongside me this season, all of whom share the same vision and passion for this sport.

Dakota Darbyson
OWNER / HEAD COACH
EXPLOSION · CORROSION · BOMBSQUAD
Hi, I am Dakota Darbyson. I am a proud registered nurse in the MHRH NICU, and a current owner and coach with Toxic Elite Cheerleading. I found my love for cheer in middle school and have been hooked for the past 17 years. I have cheered with St. Mary’s, McCoy, and Stingerz before Toxic Elite, and have competed on the Open 4.2 team in Mexico in 2019 and 2024, bringing home two world championships. I have truly found my home with Toxic Elite Cheerleading and look forward to welcoming all athletes to this wonderful sport in a gym based on acceptance, compassion, and respect.

Shelby Wesner
OWNER / HEAD COACH
POISON
Hey, I'm Shelby Wesner. I'm a registered nurse and proud mother of two who developed a love for cheerleading in high school. I cheered at McCoy High School for 3 years, going to provincials twice, then began volunteering to coach all-star cheerleading while in college. I coached with Stingerz All-Starz for 3 years, competed on their Open 4.2, then coached at Ultimate Cheer Fusion for 1 year, and now I am very excited to be joining the Toxic Elite family! Cheer is an amazing, unique sport that I believe everyone should try at least once!

Courtney Thompson
POISON
Hello everyone! My name is Courtney Thompson, and I am a Registered Nurse with Palliser Primary Care, working alongside a local physicians’ clinic in Medicine Hat. I have always had a strong passion for the outdoors and athletics, but it was three years ago that I truly discovered the exciting world of cheerleading. From the moment I became involved, I was captivated by the sport’s unique combination of athleticism, dance, teamwork, and performance. The dedication, strength, and skill these athletes demonstrate continue to inspire me every day. It has been an absolute pleasure assisting in coaching these talented U12 athletes and supporting them as they grow in confidence, ability, and teamwork. Being a part of their journey has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
